Born on Oahu, I've lived in Hawaii most of my life, and on Maui since 1979.  My fascination with massage therapy began in the early 70's when I was incapacitated with nerve pain in my shoulder and arm. After many doctor visits, where I was only offered pain killers and muscle relaxants as a "band aid" for my symptoms, I decided to try massage first. After a single treatment, most of my pain was gone. This was a revelation to me! So I began to explore alternative methods for health and recovery.

I graduated from Maui School of Therapeutic Massage in 2003. Since then I've been a licensed Massage Therapist with an active private practice. Over the years, I've worked extensively in resort spas, health centers, clinics, Physical Therapy offices, Chiropractor's offices, and I've even offered chair and table massage at various corporate events. Working alongside chiropractors and physical therapists has been a wonderful opportunity to learn, and I'm grateful to these professionals for their willingness to share their knowledge in our joint effort to improve patient care.

My goal for many years has been to fine tune my skills, increase my knowledge and education, and stay on the cutting edge of my profession. I've received many continuing education trainings and certifications - too numerous to list. But the high points for me were:

  • Instructor Certification in Traditional Northern Style Thai Floor Massage, after extensive studies in Chiang Mai, Thailand

  • Barefoot Shiatsu Back Walk

  • Lomi Lomi 1, 2, 3, Lomi Lomi Papahele, and Hot Stone Massage with Dr. Maka'ala Yates

  • Hawaiian Back Walk

  • Orthopedic Massage and Pain Management with James Waslaski

  • Craniosacral Therapy, Levels I & 2 with The Upledger Institute

  • Syntropy Workshop with Shari Sunshine

  • Reiki I & II, the Usui Method

  • Chair Massage, Pre-Natal Massage, Reflexology

  • Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, and Myofascial Release

With this wide variety of techniques and modalities to choose from, I strive to create a personalized blend appropriate for the needs of each individual. I continue to be awed and inspired by the effectiveness of massage therapy for pain management, rehabilitation from injuries, and stress relief.

It is one of my passions to teach and share my experience with professionals in the bodywork field. I also enjoy teaching beginners who wish to care for family members, and to give the gift of touch to their loved ones.

Some of my past volunteer work has been with Hospice Maui, Aids Foundation, Women Helping Women, Community Emergency Response Team, and other community service organizations. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and paddling.
